A Note on Pen Names
To better serve readers and distinguish between genres and styles, Craig also writes under select pen names. Pen names are used for organizational clarity and reader experience, while all works remain fully created and published under The Shepherd Network.
The pen name Forest Clay — used for the Testament Mysteries Universe biblical thriller series — carries a deeply personal meaning. Forest is taken from the middle name of Craig's maternal grandfather, DeForest. Clay is taken from the middle name of his paternal grandfather, Clayborne. Both men held a profound place in his life, and the name was chosen deliberately to honor their memory and carry them forward into every story written beneath it.
In this way, Forest Clay is not simply a publishing identity — it is a tribute. A name formed from two legacies, written into the work of a third generation.
